Former world heavyweight challenger David Tua (50-3-1, 43 KOs) stopped WBO #7 , IBF #14 Shane Cameron (23-2, 20 KOs) in two rounds at Hamilton, New Zealand Saturday. Cameron came out in round one scoring with left jabs but Tua connected with a left hook that dropped Cameron for an eight count. In round two Tua was relentless, attacking Cameron with both hands. He immediately had Cameron in trouble again at which point referee Bruce McTavish crowned Tua to save Cameron from further punishment. Tua holds knockout wins over four former world champs including John Ruiz, Hasim Rahman, Oleg Maskaev and Michael Moorer. WBA #3 Kali Meehan has issued a challenge to fight Tua.
